Postini Facts & Figures
For January, 2006

Fact: Postini serves more than 35,000 companies worldwide.
Explanation: Includes our 5,500 direct customers plus a conservative estimate of the number of indirect customers sold by ISPs and VARs.

Fact: Postini protects 9.1 million end users.
Explanation: This number is taken from the operation systems.

Fact: Postini processes about 1 Billion messages per day.
Explanation: This is the total number of SMTP connections we handle. We block about 50% at the connection layer, through our DHA analysis, Network Effect and Invalid Address filters. The remaining messages go to the Content Analysis layers (anti-virus, anti-spam, attachment manager, content manager).

Fact: Currently, Postini delivers just 12% of those 500 million daily messages to our customers.
Explanation: The other 88% are spam, phishing, viruses, and DHAs that we either block, bounce or quarantine. These figures fluctuate, but these are the levels we've seen for the past few months. The long-term trend continues to be more garbage, less good email.

Fact: Postini has 12 data centers in 4 countries.
Explanation: Four U.S. primary data centers in Santa Clara, with four secondaries in Chicago. One primary in London. with a secondary in Amsterdam. Our newest primary is in Zurich, and its secondary data center is in Geneva.

Fact: Postini has more than 220 employees in 4 offices worldwide (San Carlos, Austin, London, Zurich).
Explanation: Postini has built a global presence with both its data centers and staff, to provide "on the ground" sales, service and support to our customers. And we continue to grow!

Fact: Postini has been profitable for 7 consecutive quarters, and has 21 consecutive quarters of increasing revenues.
Explanation: Profitability started in 2004-Q2 and continues today (through 2005-Q4 so far).

Fact: Postini customers renew their contracts 97.6% of the time.
Explanation: In other words, 98 out of 100 customers are so happy with the service that they renew. That is an extraordinarily high number for a service provider, especially in light of how easy it is for them to switch to another solution.

Fact: Postini has been in business for nearly 7 years.
Explanation: Postini was founded in the Spring of 1999. Our first customers were activated later that same year.
